God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything
by Christopher Hitchens
Christopher Hitchens believes that religion was created by us and it’s lethal, based in fear and supported by brute force. In God is Not Great, Hitchens enumerates the sins and wickedness of religion. He even writes that it is “allied to racism and tribalism and bigotry, invested in ignorance and hostile to free inquiry, contemptuous of women and coercive toward children.” He gives good proof for all this but the problems begin when you try to generalize or simplify a complicated issue. Controversial and challenging, it’s definitely good reading.
