Step out into nature to discover the beauty of local walking
trails, along with gorgeous plants native to Florida. Presented by the Pine
Lily Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society. Visit any branch location to
pick up a nature takeaway kit complete with information, activities, and
Florida native plant seeds.

This Week: Shingle Creek South Sector
Parking Location: 4155 W Irlo
Bronson Highway, Kissimmee, FL 34746 (Osceola County Welcome Center &
History Museum) 
Start Time: 8:45 a.m. / End Time:12:00 p.m. 
This field trip will begin on the front porch at the Welcome Center, where visitors can return to learn about Osceola County
history and natural resources. We will walk under Highway 192 along the creek
and cross the creek on the boardwalk and bridge that parallels the old Midland
Railroad track. We will wander through pine flat woods, an oak hammock
and into the edge of the Shingle Creek swamp, the headwaters to the Everglades
ecosystem. 
Effort Level: Moderate; the trail is part sun,
part shade on boardwalk and dirt. Wheelchair access is not great.
