TALK IT UP! Life, Liberty, + Libraries for Families

Osceola Library System is thrilled to partner with Florida Humanities and PBS Books to nurture the minds of a new generation as they learn to value democracy and practice civic engagement within their own communities. You will hear directly from local elected officials about their experiences and what you can do to take action and get involved! Learn about the democratic process from the source with special guests from the Supervisor of Elections office, take part in a mock election with actual voting machines, enjoy activities, enter to win prizes, and more!

The School District of Osceola County's READ Bus

The Osceola School District's Special Programs Department is bringing their READ Bus, a renovated yellow school bus with an interior that resembles a mini pre-k classroom, to Osceola Library System's branches. The READ Bus is equipped with resources to engage parents and families of pre-school age children and toddlers in activities to develop early literacy skills under the guidance of trained parent liaisons. Storytime at the Park

Relax and enjoy socially distanced stories, rhymes, and sunshine at our Outdoor Storytime in the Osprey Pavilion at Lakefront Park.

Ms. Delaney will share stories and encourage little ones and their grownups to follow along with movement exercises. Masks, for participants over 2 years old, and social distancing are required. Participants are encouraged to bring towels or blankets to help designate spaces. In the event of inclement weather, Storytime at the Park will be canceled. Presented in partnership with the City of Kissimmee.
