Library cards are free to all Osceola County residents or for persons who own property, work, or go to school in Osceola County. All Library records are considered confidential information per Chapter 257 of the Florida Statutes. Only the named cardholder may use the card. If the cardholder is a youth ages 15 or younger, the parent or guardian is responsible for the resources checked out on the youth's card and any fees incurred on the card; the youth must be present to receive or use their card.
Osceola Library eCards are available for those who only need access to electronic resources* such as our research databases or eBooks, and not our physical collection. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, applications for Osceola Library eCards must be completed by a person 13 years or older. eCards are available to those who reside, own property, work or go to school in Osceola County as well as Polk County residents.
*If you are already a cardholder, you do not need an eCard to use electronic materials. Your current card allows access.

Visit any Library branch to sign up for or renew a Library card. Library cards are valid system-wide at all Osceola County Library locations.

Proof of address and a valid photo ID (imprinted with name) are required for sign-ups and renewals for all cards. For youth ages 15 and younger, a parent or guardian must be present to receive any of our offered Library cards.
If you do not reside in Osceola County, there are three options for receiving a Library card: Nonresident, Reciprocal, and Nonresident Fee Cards. These cards follow the same requirements and age restriction stated above, with additional requirements based on the type of card.
Resident Library Card: For persons who reside in Osceola County. Valid for two years.
Nonresident Card: Patrons ages 16 and older who do not reside in Osceola County, but currently work, attend college, or own property in the County. For those who work or attend college in the County, proof of business/school association is also required for sign up and renewals. Valid for one year.
Reciprocal Card: Patrons who do not reside in Osceola County but have a current Library card from Brevard County Libraries or live in Polk County. For those who have a card with Brevard County, it is required to present your Brevard Library Card at the time of sign-up and renewal. Valid for one year.
Nonresident Fee Card: Visitors who do not qualify for a Nonresident or Reciprocal Card. An annual fee of $25 per card is required, paid in full at the time of sign-up and renewal. Valid for one year.
Once you have an account created with us, should you ever forget your Library Card you may check out items at the front desk with your valid Driver's License or state-issued identification. Please note: Business cards, work IDs, gym cards, or other picture IDs are not accepted due to the confidential nature of Library Card records.
Educator Cards help get more resources to the Osceola students who need them, whether it be because their school does not have a library, or their school library does not have a healthy collection that supports their curriculum and needs. Visit any Library branch to sign up for or renew an Educator Card. Like personal Library Cards, Educator Cards are valid system-wide at all Osceola County Library locations and are valid for 2 years.
This card only extends to educators whose employment is based in Osceola County. An educator may have an Educator Card in addition to their personal Library Card.

- 100 Checkouts (Standard Card: 50)

- Auto-Renewals* up to 3 times (*Excludes items that have hold requests)
- K-12 Classroom Instructors including public, private, and charter schools
- Pre-School and Day Care Providers
- Homeschool Leaders
- Professors and College Instructors
To apply for an Educator Card, the following proof (where applicable) is required at the time of sign-up and card renewal:
- School-issued ID
- Paycheck Stub
- Proof of registration as a "home education program with the school district on school district letterhead
- Proof of certified home-based child care service from the State of Florida
