Pollinators are an essential part of the natural world. One in three bites of food we eat depends on pollinators. From butterflies and bees to beetles and birds, many kinds of pollinators have evolved within their ecosystems by building unique relationships with plants. This exhibition explores the who, what, when, where, why, and how of pollination, and the essential role that pollinators play in the natural world.
The poster exhibition is funded in part through a generous grant by the Smithsonian Women’s Committee.

Heidi Adler, also known as Artistic Scorpio or Mrs. Fab, was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. She moved to Florida at a young age and began her artistic career in her 20s. Adler largely focuses on mixed media work, yet she still sometimes engages with semi-realistic painting. Adler is not interested in perfection within her practice and sees the evidence of process as integral to understanding her artwork. To her, this reflects the nature of humanity: authentic and unfiltered.
“Each piece I make carries intentional inconsistencies, inviting viewers to find meaning not in perfection, but in authenticity. I’m drawn to the idea that art can speak to everyone. Whether it whispers or roars, I aim to create pieces that resonate across boundaries — cultural, emotional, personal. My process is intuitive, often guided by color, texture, and the stories that unfold as I work. I don’t seek to control the outcome; I let the materials, and my instincts lead the way.”

Rob Kaz is a Florida-based artist with a background in animation and a deep love for storytelling. He brings a cinematic quality to his work, often using light, color, and atmosphere to evoke a sense of wonder and nostalgia.
Before becoming a full-time painter, Rob worked in the animation industry with studios including Electronic Arts (EA) where he was a character artist. His transition to fine art allowed him to merge his animation sensibilities with traditional painting techniques, resulting in a signature style that feels both vibrant and immersive. Rob’s work frequently features quiet moments, charming characters, and imaginative settings that speak to both children and adults alike.
An officially licensed Disney artist, Rob has become a fixture in the Disney art world. His work has twice been selected as the official art for the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, and his Friends Along the Way series—celebrating the beauty and personality of animals—is on permanent display at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. These achievements highlight his ability to connect with audiences of all ages through heart, whimsy, and visual storytelling. It reflects Rob’s deep appreciation for wildlife and his ability to create emotional connection through expression, posture, and setting.
For this exhibition, Kaz displays The Traveling Girl series. He invites viewers into a world as experienced by a curious, adventurous girl as she journeys. Where? That seems yet to be decided. Each piece captures a fleeting moment—whether she’s reading while waiting at a bus stop, deciding which train to take, reflecting on life and her own image in a stream, staring inside a store window during the rain, offering friendship to animals or simply exploring. Though we rarely see her face, her presence speaks volumes. She represents wonder, quiet strength, and the joy of exploring the unknown.
