Adventure is calling! What bestselling book has monsters, gods and a boy who just found out he’s no ordinary kid? It’s the must-read of the moment, The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Dive into the heroic world of The Lightning Thief with weekly programs all September long!
Start with a Dot
2pm-3pm, Saturday, September 13 at the Buenaventura Lakes Library
Celebrate International Dot Day with a hands-on STEAM adventure inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ The Dot. Discover how one tiny dot can grow into something amazing as you experiment, build and create!
Birds of Prey Animal Encounter
6pm-7:30pm, Thursday, September 11 at St. Cloud Library
Get up close with majestic raptors while learning about their fascinating behavior, hunting techniques, and the vital role they play in nature. Presented by Falconry Adventures of Orlando. Sponsored by the St. Cloud Friends of the Library.
Summer Chess Championship
12pm-6pm, Sunday, September 21 at the West Osceola Library
Chess enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to participate in Celebration’s Chess Club Summer Championship. The tournament is open to the public and promises an engaging experience for players and spectators alike. Sign-ups are first come, first serve!
This program will be facilitated by Nick Perez of the Orlando Chess Association.
Adults
Looking for something interesting to do? The Library has you covered with free programs for adults. Whether you’re into learning new things or just meeting new people, there’s always something going on. Check the online calendar and drop in for some grown-up fun at the library!
Fall Senior Expo
10am-12pm, Wednesday, September 24 at Hart Memorial Library
Age is just a number! Representatives from different organizations, businesses, and local government agencies will be available to share information needed to empower and promote safe and healthy living for senior adults. Enjoy a lively atmosphere, complementary health screenings, and chances to win great raffle prizes! In partnership with Bridlewood Insurance Services.
