Spot the Book: The Lightening Thief
- Week One (4:30pm, Wednesday, September 3) – Welcome to Camp Half Blood! Camp T-shirts are all about fun. Please bring a plain T-shirt to create your own custom design!
- Week Two (4:30pm, Wednesday, September 10) – The Bolt Has Been Stolen! You just found out you are a Demigod and arrive at Camp Half-Blood for training. Once there, you must embark on a quest to recover Zeus’s stolen lightning bolt. Along the way, you will solve riddles, complete challenges, decode clues, and outwit monsters in this scavenger hunt inspired by The Lightning Thief.
- Week Three (4:30pm, Wednesday, September 17) – Camp Half-Blood Olympic Trials! Compete against other brave souls in challenges designed around Greek mythology, teamwork, and the powers of the gods – fostering physical activity, imagination, and a love for storytelling. (Note: This program will not be taking place at the St. Cloud Library)
- Week Four (4:30pm, Wednesday, September 24) – Escape from the Underworld! You and your friends are trapped in the Underworld. To escape and return the stolen Master Bolt to Zeus, you must work together to solve mythological puzzles, crack secret codes, and outsmart legendary creatures. (Note: This program will not be taking place at the West Osceola Library)
Spot the Book: Read and Reel
Dive into Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief and compare this 2010 movie adaptation to the book! After viewing the movie, we’ll explore how Percy Jackson’s epic adventure changes from page to screen through creative activities. Participants will analyze characters, plot differences, and creative choices, then reimagine scenes or design their own adaptations. Popcorn provided!

Show off your reading powers!
