Draw, paint, or digitally create an original work of art about Florida’s sometimes severe weather!

From January 16-February 3, help promote Severe Weather Awareness Week (February 5-9, 2024), by illustrating what you would do to prepare in one of these severe weather categories:

  • lightning
  • marine hazards and rip currents
  • thunderstorms and tornadoes
  • hurricanes and flooding
  • extreme temperatures
  • wildfires

The Severe Weather Awareness contest is in partnership with Osceola County Emergency Management and is open to students grade K-12. All artwork should include a written safety message to help teach others about severe weather safety and preparedness. Visit Osceola County Emergency Management’s website for helpful information about what to include in your message.

Original artwork must be submitted using the Biblioboard submission page and the last day to submit is Saturday, February 3. The winning artist will be invited to an Osceola Board of County Commissioners’ meeting to celebrate, and their artwork will be shared across the County on social media and displayed at the winner’s local library!
